When I boot linux kernel 2.6.24.23 the ubuntu sign load for a while and then I get a black screen with loads of stuff on it..... bout I also get one error saying that there is no suitable modulator for kernel....it doesn't affect my software...I can still do every thing but it takes a lot longer to boot.
I do not experience this when I boot using kernel version 2.6.24.19.
Please help....thanks in advance

It appears to be a known issue.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.20/+bug/65529

But it doesn't sound like it's causing any issues. You could try adding force_addr=0xaddr to the kernel line of the applicable entry in /boot/grub/menu.lst, but if it's not causing any trouble, I'd just ignore it.
