Hey all, ive got a 1gb USB stick that i created into a live install disc, However i would like make this USB device my primary hard drive of my computer (with persistant changes ect). Any ideas?

When i boot from the USB on the default setting "Try ubuntu without changes" and then try to install there is no hard disc to choose from, even when i have a different USB in the computer.

(Ubuntu 8.10)

Thanks for the help all

Hi Max-

I had the same problem as you. I came across the below URL and it helped me to install on a USB drive without any problems. Give this a try:

Hope it helps out.
