gedit problem

something happened to gedit I do no know why. When I open it, it takes approx 15 seconds to open. When I open it in terminal it gives this error message.

sys:1: Warning: g_object_ref: assertion `object->ref_count > 0' failed

I get this same problem, but it happens when I close gedit after opening it from the command line (I mostly notice it when I am opening something using SUDO since I have a link to open it for non-SUDO files).
