My USB drive is 256 MB (can't find my dads, which is bigger), so that's not an option.

I looked at burning it to a disk and WTF? Seriously. "Find the image you want to burn" or whatever? That doesn't help. The file it says to download isn't an image, it's a bunch of...stuff.

I downloaded Wubi and burned it to a disk. It worked, but when I tried installing it, it tried to get online.

Windows is messed up and nothing can connect (but the Ping command works...). I am moving to Ubuntu because of this, but I can't download Ubuntu, and USB isn't working. Neither is a CD.

I also did a Build an Image, then Burn to CD in ImgBurn. That didn't work.

So how do I get Ubuntu from a good computer to the broken one to install it?

Also, I don't have to have Windows, right? I've been told so, and I want to make sure I can just get rid of it and Install Ubuntu as the main OS.

I'm sorry, but I'm in a huge rush. I need to get this done before...well, tomorrow. I want to be able to come home from school and hop on my computer and not wait 3 or 4 hours for my dad to "just finish an e-mail" and then "oh, I started another" because I've got school work that needs to be done...

So, rush delivery and all that good stuff, please?

Installing using wubi will install ubuntu on the same partition as windows, so if you where wanting to get rid of windows then you would be better of doing a installation to a partition.
Go here (http://releases.ubuntu.com/intrepid/) and download the iso file best for your machine either a http://releases.ubuntu.com/intrepid/ubuntu-8.10-desktop-i386.iso for 32bit or http://releases.ubuntu.com/intrepid/ubuntu-8.10-desktop-amd64.iso for 64bit.
If you want to use a torrent then look for a desktop i386 iso or a desktop amd64 iso file.
Then follow this (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto) to burn it to disk

Trying it now, will update.

Do I unzip the file when it's done downloading?

Double post, yes, but it worked. So...solved or whatever.
