xubuntu boots then blank screen

I have Installed xubuntu on my toshiba 4005cds. but after grub boots xubuntu. it will load then go to a blank black screen and do nothing.

if you could please help me with this issue. it would be greatly appreciated.

Try installation using safe graphics mode or if that does not work then try installing from the ALTERNATE (text based) CD version.

i installed it from the alt installer ISO
the OS is installed it just goes blank after the boot

How old is this machine ?

How much memory does it have ?

Have you checked to make sure that it meets the minimum system hardware requirements for Xubuntu ?
