I have installed Ubuntu 8.10 "in Windows" when starting it asks for Username and Password, the install did not give me the chance to enter either, and I do not have a username and password on Windows.. How do I get around username and password, it did not give me the chance to check auto login either.

I assume that by "in windows" you mean you used the Wubi installer. I have never used it, but at some point in the installation process it asked you for a username and password, usually Ubuntu would ask for your full name, and make a username based on that. there won't be an auto-login or guest account. Unless someone else can give you a better solution your best step is probably to delete ubuntu and re-install it.

The username and password is for Ubuntu, NOT Windows.
