Hello all,
Total newbie here,
I downloaded Ubuntu 8.10 and burnt it to a cd and then installed it on the pc from which I am writing this. Works great, Asus A6J.
Then, I have this old laptop, Dell latitude (cpi?) A 400t running on a pentium II-400 : 256MB ram : HD is 6495MB : Video memory is 2.5MB : Internal cache is 256KB. I bought it from a cheap used computer store where they had installed windows xp on it. It is very slow but everything is working, even wireless internet through a card.
I'd like to be able to use this laptop to play with Arduino controllers. I need it to be a little faster so I downloaded Xubuntu 8.10, burnt it to a cd the same way I did for Ubuntu, and then set up the Dell to boot from cd and restarted the pc.
When it starts, you can hear the cd spinning 2 or 3 times, stopping then spinning a little more and then xp boots and ther is no sign of Xubuntu!
What should I do?
Thanks
Kaporal P.
