I am currently running hardy 8.04 right off the disc. I have not installed any additional upgrades to the software. I am trying to wake my P5n7A-wm motherboard up using WOL. I have followed many different posts/threads such as this one: http://lojic.com/blog/2008/09/03/ubuntu-804-linux-wake-on-lan/. Once I found this thread I was able to wake my pc up through wake on lan after removing the "-i" in the /etc/init.d/halt script. The only problem is in order for the pc to wake up i have to run the "sudo halt" everytime. If i try to shutdown or hibernate my pc using the power button in ubuntu, I can no longer wake up my pc with a magic packet. Is ubuntu running a different script that needs to be modified when using the power features instead of the halt script?
