I have the same issue as Penguinw. I have a single 40 GB drive with XP Pro on the first partition (10 Gb), and Freedos on the second (4 Gb). These were working fine in a dual-boot config using the boot manager that comes with Freedos, until I installed Ubuntu on the remaining free space on the drive.
Grub gives me menu choices for all 3 OSes, and Ubuntu and Freedos boot fine. But when booting XP, I get the Windows splash screen followed by a blue screen that flashes on so quickly that I can't read the text on it. Then the computer restarts.
Testdisk says "Sectors are identical."
