I was wondering because this would make my life a lot easier (as in looking for a lock to lock my computer when i move out next year to a place that has a high rate of crime)

The case manual does not say and the slot does not have the K padlock icon, but it looks exactly like one (as i have one on my laptop)

so, what do you guys think?

Is this in a desktop computer? Just looks like a random hole to me. To be honest, if you're worried about having your desktop computer stolen then presumably the hypothetical thief has already broken into a room - a kensington lock is really unlikely to stop them.

i even took a ruler to it, it seems to be the exact size of a k-lock slot thats on my laptop....

and if it prevents them from just taking my expensive computer out the door, yes then i would say it helps.

Although a Kensington lock is strong, it can be removed. However, the idea is that while it could be removed, serious physical damage would result, and it might make it useless for the thief. (It would be obvious something had been forcefully removed.)

Hi Polygon.

This is a k-slot.

A thief would likely cut the cable.

Hi Polygon.

They're fairly difficult to cut, and then still, you have the lock sitting in it. Most people who would physically steal a computer do it to resell it, and having a big broken lock in your potential product doesn't go well with most customers.

To the OP: Have you tried simply opening the case and looking at the inside?
