I have been using Ubuntu on a new Dell Studio 15 since December, and I absolutely love it! I have a basic-intermediate knowledge of the OS, and I was looking to disable the OSD that comes up when I use my touch-sensitive media keys. I am running gnome on Intrepid. Any help would me most appreciated!

I would also like to know how to do this, it causes lag when I'm running a lot of things at once and it's really annoying when watching movies.
There's an idea to remove it via compiz here on ubuntu brainstorm (http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/9610/) and I think that would be a pretty spiffy thing to add.
