I have been diligently following several online tutorials in an attempt to install MS Office 2007 on my Acer Aspire One using wine on ubuntu 8.10. However, it seems to have become stuck at about 60-70%. It is running at a consistent 7% according to top (1-3% according to system monitor), but there is no hard drive activity or usb activity (I am installing from a usb key). Also, the system monitor says all processes with a .exe extension are in the pipe_wait channel. How can I unstick this process and keep it going? All I need is word, onenote, and excel, so a partial installation will work.

My main reason for even installing office is because I am addicted to OneNote and I don't like the openoffice interface enough to totally give up windows for it. I really like ubuntu (been a diligent user since 6), but microsoft office has been the real killer app in my decision not to completely switch from windows.
