Firtstly, thanks for the backport.
However, it looks like the backport hasn't been compiled without quicktime support. This is really useful for those who want to capture using Kino and use Cinelerra for video editing. (preferences: Capture :file type)
any chance that the functionality can be returned as per the standard Breezy package?

Also capturing with any file format other than RAW DV causes a crash. I think that this needs a bit more testing before staying in backports.
That said, many thanks to those own have tried. I hope you are able to fix and included quicktime support in the build

Hmm ... that's bad - I have installed it over my personal backport which was compiled with quicktime support ... maybe I'll switch back.

File a bug report at http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/. If the developers don't know about it, it won't happen at all. Ubuntuforums is a peer support forum, the chances that what you say here reach the developers so that they are able to do something about it are slim in the best of cases. On the other hand, being Ubuntu a community linux distro, the developers count on us, the users, to help them make it the great distribution we all want it to become.

Please file it to Launchpad's bug database, and we'll get it fixed and re-backported.
