Alo folks, I'm totally new to Linux/Ubuntu. I'm sick of XP and its crap. So I got the Ubuntu 8.10 CD, I just installed it alongside my XP (family doesn't like change).
It starts good, but I want to get onto the Internet, so I pop in my USB which has an .exe installer for my Modem, since its for Windows I expect. And I expect my hardware CD will not work for Ubuntu either.
What can I do to get my USB modem hardware files, my sound and old video card drivers onto Ubuntu?
Again, I'm a big newbie, but I want to get out of Windows.
