hi there,
I have two laptops one with a broken cdrom drive (A) which left me with "operating system not found" message in the middle of an ubuntu installation.

other laptop (B) is running intrepid and when I mount hdd of laptop-A externally (via usb) I can see files from the interrupted installation.

Is there a way that I could copy installation files to the hdd externally and boot from it.. ? I mean how can I install ubuntu without using cdrom.

both laptops are rather old which do not support booting from usb devices. thank you very much for your helps.
