I recently bought a little mini with 8.04 installed. I have heard a lot of buzz about 8.10, some good and some bad. Can anyone give me any advice on whether the upgrade is worth it?

What can I expect from Intrepid that Hardy doesn't offer?

There are different opinions about this, as you'll easily find if you search these forums for Hardy vs Intrepid, for example. My personal opinion: if you've got everything working as it should and encounter no problems in 8.04, I wouldn't upgrade myself.

To give a somewhat balanced point of view, here are some possible reasons to upgrade to 8.10 Intrepid Ibex:

- wireless may be easier if you've encountered problems with it
- support for some hardware may be better
- tab support for Nautilus

A longer list can be found here: http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/intrepid/beta#New%20Features%20since%20Ubuntu%208.04
Note that this was written while 8.10 was beta, so some of the bugs at the end of the article may well be fixed now.
