i want to try out the new aplha version of ubuntu 9.04.
if i have the alpha4 version and there comes an RC or the newest version will be released, is it possible to upgrade then from an alpha version to that new version?

Yes, no worry, you will be able to update to the final version.

It will happen automatically, meaning that if you install all the updates that will come until the final is out, then your installation will become the final version.
