I was wondering if its possible to run ubuntu server edition on a old gateway of mine. I have the Bare Minimum beat its the Recommended im worried about.

The processor is 2.4 ghz which is fine. the graphics card is ok is the ram. It only has 256. (two 128 sticks) I dont want to guy out and buy any thing. What ill be using the server for is to test my application that will have to access mysql and to host video files for my 360. so i was wondering if the 256 mb of ram will be suffice.

Hi and the server edition does not have a GUI. So graphics would not be a issue. :)

The server version uses the terminal.
If you are wanting a gui installation you could always look at xubuntu.
