I had alot of trouble getting the live CD to run properly with all of its options on the first screen of the 8.10 version. Many times only one line would come up but it finally worked after i pulled the CMOS batt and reset everything i got it to install.

Now it will not boot without the disk and i am getting an error that fills the page and then says kernel panic or something like that at the last line.

I am now suspect of a motherboard issue or RAM but i ran the RAM test from my 7.10 CD (also will not boot from this disk nor my windows disk either) RAM test had many errors but tested ok as per the results.

I thought that i was ok after the setup worked and shut down with out a hiccup finally but it seems like nothing has been fixed.

Any help would be appreciated as this is my main machine.

(CD runs flawlessly on my laptop too)

Sys specs:
