I want to try f-prot av, but I can't find it in Synaptic. I have read from other posts that f-prot is in Synaptic. Do I need to add a repository? If so, how/which one? (Ubuntu/Linux noob speaking) XD

Also, I've read the various views of needing/not needing an av, however I have a dual boot system, and also transfer files to and from friend's computers, most of which are windows..

Finally, does f-prot have rootkit detection/removal? I don't fully understand rootkits, but I do use Avast on XP and it has rootkit removal.

I think thats all.
Thanks!

Have you looked in Applications-->Graphics? that is where the F-spot launcher normally is.

I have f-spot, but f-prot is anti-virus software. Sorry if there's any confusion. = P
