My second computer has XP SP2 on it, but I'd like to add Ubuntu 7.10 as well. Yesterday I formatted the hard drive and freshly re-installed XP. The pc has 512MB memory and one 80GB hard drive.
I've never had to install Ubuntu as it came pre-installed on my laptop. I've found a walk-through guide (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/GraphicalInstall#Walk-through%20Installation%20of%20Ubuntu) to installing it, but the only part I am unsure of is when it comes to partitioning.
Will the LiveCD detect that XP is already on the hard drive, and just install Ubuntu alongside it, or will I have to re-partition it somehow?
I know that the walk-through does mention partitions but I don't really understand it well enough to be certain I'll choose the correct option.
