LyX - cannot highlight text anymore

OS: Jaunty (2.6.28-7-generic)
LyX ver: 1.6.1

Got a problem that started recently: Each time I try to highlight some text within a LyX session, the selected text does not stay highlighted when I let go of the left mouse button...

Any idea how to fix this?

Cheers,
Rainer

I've run into this in Gnome if visual effects are turned on. Turning them off cures it. It doesn't seem to be a problem in KDE.

Sadly, I never turned on any effects in the first place. The problem went away for a while, then after some updates, it came back. But I did notice that highlighting with the keyboard usually works a bit better...

I know the answer. Just check the settings of your clipboard manager (glipper possibly). You just have to switch off the clipboard management of "Select using middle mouse button". That's all ;)
