I have recently picked up a system that has a RocketRaid 230x SATA RAID adapter. I did a Google search and found a page where it indicated editing a loader.conf file. I was not able to locate that file and I created one in the /boot directory, but it didn't seem to load anything. This is the link. (http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/intrepid/man4/hptrr.4freebsd.html)

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to install Ubuntu with this adapter.

Thanks for the assistance.

I took a look at the link, and it appears to me that there isn't a file, rather the driver needs to be loaded into the kernel. That's about all the "help" I'll be able to give on this one.

Did a Google search; there is a pdf which sets out an installation guide. http://209.85.173.132/search?q=cache:H_E3C8ln0f8J:www.highpoint-tech.cn/BIOS_Driver/rr231x_00/Linux/newformat/Install_Ubuntu_RR231x_0x.pdf+Install+Ubuntu+with+R ocketRaid+230x&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us&client=firefox-a is the same guide shown as html, don't know whether this will help or not.
