I have tried every conceivable login/pw combo from the forums and from what i thought it was set at to no avail.

You saying you can't login to your router? If you've tried the obvious defaults (none, or using "admin" for either the username or password), your only resort would be to do a hardware reset on the router. That will restore the factory-set login -- but it will also restore all the other settings as well.
