I read a guide on installing Kwin, but the only problem was, it said to edit files that.. don't exist in 8.10. As in, remove things from these files. The guide was for an older version, and I'm wondering, how do I install Kwin in 8.10? I would like to have my friend's Xbox LIVE Gamercards on my desktop, and my own when I get an Xbox 360. Any help?

Can you provide a link to the program you are referring to?

You don't mean this kwin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KWin)?

I don't know about those gamercards but you just need to install kde. try kubuntu-destkop for a full-featured desktop.

I try installing kubuntu-desktop with Synaptic, but it comes up with an error saying that it can't download some dependencies, then tells me to enable any necessary repos. I have all the repositories enabled in Software Sources. What's wrong?

There seems to be a problem in Intrepid with broken packages when installing kubuntu-desktop from a ubuntu installation.. at least, I've seen it reported a couple of times on the forums.

If you want to try the KDE desktop, I'd just download a Kubuntu ISO and do a fresh installation. See www.kubuntu.org
