Anyone know of any for linux.

I have seen them for *******. but havent ran across anything for linux

if you dont know what im taking about let me explain.

I do electronics work. and back in my windows days i had a program that i could cross reference parts (diodes,capacitors,simi-conductors,ect) and be able to find replacement part #'s ect.

any ideas?

Shouldn't you just be able to do that with datasheets? They mostly come in .pdf format which can easily be viewed in Linux.

Also, if you need to do some circuit design, I know there are copies of Electronic Workbench that run in DOS. DOSBox does a pretty decent job of running DOS software.

If those are not options, you could try running the software in WINE.

Check out Kicad http://www.lis.inpg.fr/realise_au_lis/kicad/

It has libraries and you can add to it. Eagle is another one, but its not open source and I don't know about its library.
