Nice. And yet people still refuse to go after Microsoft for putting out such a junk platform of an OS.

In Free Software, the bounty would be much smaller, and would be awarded to whomever fixed the bug that might make the worm possible. Microsoft instead chooses to spend what might be far more money to punish the person who managed to pull off the exploit.

The difference in price tells you the degree to which Microsoft values, in dollars, its control over the codebase over the security of its users.

At the end of the day the people that perpetrate these viruses are criminals. They cost industry millions and can often ruin peoples lives. So well done to Microsoft for at least making a stand against crime.
