View Full Version : [ubuntu] Getting BusyBox when trying to install

February 13th, 2009, 09:19 PM
My computer has no operating systems on it, and I try to boot from the Ubuntu Desktop CD and it does is fancy little loading screen thing after I select the Install option, then after a while, BusyBox comes up, and I have no idea what to do with that. I tried typing help and got a bunch of commands that didnt make any sense at all and none of them seemed to work.

Why is this BusyBox coming up, and what do I have to do to get it to stop coming up, so I can just install the system.

BusyBox comes up

If you get an initramfs (aka busy box) screen:

a) Check the CD
b) Burn CD at a lower speed
c) Boot with the all_generic_ide kernel option (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=5436513&postcount=7)
d) Change the CD drive (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=703228)
