When I close my laptop lid, the WiFi disconnects, and in order to reconnect, I have to click the Network Manager, and reselect my wireless network. Why is it disconnecting when the lid closes?

Most likely closing the lid is configured to equate going into sleep mode. One doesn't communicate while asleep, though some might call snoring a despicable form of communication. But as snoring does, wlan does use energy.

The pertinent question is: does your laptop resume communication when the lid is opened and, e.g., a key is pressed?

It's set to "Blank Screen" in Power Manager, so would "Do Nothing" help maybe? I'll try it.

EDIT:: Tried it, it works fine now.
