Hello,
I tried to install gfxboot using all sorts of guides I found but in the process I managed to screw up the booting of XP. I still can get into GRUB and from there to kubuntu. Bootgfx still doesn't work, but that's just a minor problem now.
One thing has changed though, in the past I got the GRUB-selectionscreen after stage 1.5, now after stage 2.0.
My results from the info_boot_script are:

The explanation of my partitions:
sda1: Dell partition software
sda2: Recovery partition for vista (I'm using XP now but kept it)
sda3: No idea what this does, probably nothing
sda4: my NTFS-partition which i use for sharing files between XP and kubuntu
sda5: NTFS-partition on which XP is actually installed
sda6: my linux partition
sda7: the swap-partition for linux
I also screwed around with ms-sys, trying to get things back, but I think it did more bad than good.
Is there a way to restore things back to what they were without losing any of my files?
