Ubuntu ps3 kboot error?

i recently purchased ubuntu at best buy to install on my playstation 3.
partitioned the drive and had a otheros.bld on flash drive ready. it then took me to the ubuntu ps3 kboot loader screen. the below discription stated "no default root fs was found"

kboot is there i press enter and it goes down another line!?

what exactley do i need to do to get this to work?

im a complete fool with linux and this stuff so please make it idiot proof thank you so much!:KS

same here after a 8.10 ubuntu install

cant go past kboot (just goes to another line)

you need to use a ppc linux distro.
if your using a standard ubuntu x86 disc it probably won't work.

also if your using a power pc distro, one of the latest releases of kboot is broken. try downloading a new kboot
