OpenOffice Upgrade

Is it possible to run update and upgrade to get OpenOffice 3 for Ubuntu 8.04? I currently have 2.4 and am wishing to upgrade. I guess what I'm asking is if the packages have been updated.

No, not unless you happened to find a 3rd party repository. You can also go to openoffice.org and download the debs to install oo3
