I initially loaded my computer a compaq sp750 with SCSI drives with the server edition of Ubuntu 8.04, this worked fine without a hitch. However, I decided it was more appropriate to run the desktop version, I download the ISO image and burned the CD boot it up and I continually get dropped to the initramfs or BusyBox prompt. I cannot get 8.04 desktop to load. I have searched and found lots of things to try but nothing is getting me past my problem. I am assuming this has something to do with my computer having SCSI disks. Not sure where to go to from here. I tried an older 7.04 CD and it got passed the initramfa prompt, but I would really like to use the newer version. Thanks for any help you can provide.
