Default desktop environment

Last week after browsing a community cafe thread on desktops i decided to install KDE on one of my desktops and as part of the process i set KDE as the default desktop. it won't let me log on, or after i do i get a terminal window that wont go away. right now i consider that a separate problem, my question is how do i set the default desktop environment back to gnome?

At the login screen, choose Sessions, then Gnome. It should prompt you "do you want to set Gnome as the default, or just for this session." If not, you can set it with the login screen preferences in your System menu.
