Cannot upgrade Open Office 3.0 to 3.01

I have Ubuntu 8.10 x64 with OOO 3.0. Whenever I open it I get a message that an update is available. If I download the update I get a tar, which, if extracted has a shell script and lots of debs. I cannot work out how to install via this method.

I also have the correct apt for intrepid in my third party sources. It does not download 3.01. I assumed it was because the update wasn't in the repos. However, this morning I updated another computer from 2.4 to 3.01 via the repos!

So I went back to my original computer, reloaded the sources, but no joy.


Can anyone help me to update 3.0 to 3.01 either manually, or via the repos?

Are you using the same repo on both machines? Is one 32 bit and the other 64 bit?

Both 64 bit machines running Ubuntu 8.10 x64. Same repos.

Jim,
I have "recommended updates" enabled, if that is what you mean. I don't have the backports option enabled (on either machine).
