Hi, I've created a dual-boot on my family PC in order to introduce my family to Linux. Smart me, I installed Kubuntu when I've only ever used Ubuntu. Problem is that Kubuntu freezes up on me randomly and I am wondering if switching to regular old Ubuntu 8.10 will fix the stability issue.

Is it as easy as installing Ubuntu over top of the partitions I created during my Kubuntu install? (partitions being the swap space, boot space, and OS)

Thanks in advance!

Yes. Just pop in the live cd select the partitions and your good. Grub will notice windows fine. It will be like kubuntu never happened.

That's pretty much what I thought, thanks for the help! I'll post back here if the switch from KDE to Gnome does the trick for my system, along with specs.
