When trying to install I keep getting i/o buffer errors how do I solve and install??

I have an Intel i945p/g chipset

Which version of Ubuntu are you trying to install? Have you run 'Check CD for defects,' or checked md5sum? What are your system specs (aside from the chipset)?

Thanks for your reply, I have decided not to install on my desktop for now. I have however now got a netbook which I intend to try to intall on.
