Hi all! I'm not an experienced user of Ubuntu (nor of any Linux distro). I have a dual boot workstation (Ubuntu 8.10 64bit and WinXP 32 bit).
I have most of my interests in graphic 2d and 3d, so I'd like to overwrite Ubuntu with Ubuntustudio.
Now the question. Should I format the linux partitions and go on with a normal install run, or I can upgrade the system? Does Ubuntu studio offer the same interoperability (with Winxp) then Ubuntu does?
Are these questions stupid?
Many thanks

You don't have to reinstall, go to System-->Administration-->Synaptic Package Manager-->Edit-->Mark Package by Task and select the parts of Ubuntu studio you want to install from the menu.

Linux is Linux, no matter what distribution you are using.

Many thanks. I was on the same point just surfing and reading the Net.
But I must defeat my ancestral idea that I'm not so skilled for Linux...
