I'm a linux newbie and stuck on something that's probably very simple. I'm running 8.04 64bit, but many apps only offer 32bit versions. I'd like to install a 32bit kernel to boot into when I need to. (I've searched for a while, but haven't found anything useful.) If someone could tell me how or point me in the right direction, I'd be most grateful.

You can run 32bit apps in 64bit environment providing that you've installed the lib32 (32bit libraries) first. Go into synaptic and search for it.

Maybe is better to make a little room in your HH and install a 32 bit system side by side with the 64 bit.You only need 4 GB

I have some of the lib32 stuff, but I don't know which ones I need and don't need. Would installing them all just clog up my system?
