I installed the gnome-screensaver and pressed the keys "ctrl+alt+l" but only the screensaver had started. I want to lock down the screen and I know gnome-screensaver dosen't do that when "root" has logined. Then how can I lock down my screen, please?
sending the answer to my e-mail is better(107944616@qq.com),thank you!

Not completely sure, but it may have something to do with the fact that the root account is locked, meaning there is no password to it.
Did you buy a computer with ubuntu pre-installed?

Why do you need a locked screen with root, if I may ask? Is it not simpler to simply use sudo and its variants?
