Hoping someone can help out with install. I have been doing some reading and searching on the interent and can not find anything that helps. I am trying to install Ubuntu, and I downloaded the ISO and burned it to a DVD. When I put it in and restart, the options menu comes up to run, install, check disk, memory, ect. I checked the disk, it passes, memory test passes, but when I got to install, the Ubuntu logo comes up, loads for a while, then it drops me to command prompt: ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ at the top there is a bunch of stuff about Ubuntu not having any warranty, yadayada. I tried to install Fedora 10 with similar issues.

The cumputer is an Averatec laptop AMD Athalon M processor with 512K Ram, beats all the sys reqs.

Any ideas? Thank you very much.

I think iI might have figured it out by using the Alternate Install ISO if anyone is having the same problem.

Well everything installed fine, but it still boots up to the command prompt, no to desktop. Does anyone have any ideas? Please?

Right before it goes to the command prompt, it says bogl_init failed.
