So I'm kinda in a tight spot, financialy, and I wanna buy a new PC, the problem I have is that hardware is kinda pricy here, the taxes for pc parts are high. So I'm looking for cheaper parts online and I came across these Barebone systems, they look nice. I realize they're not that expandable compared to a regular PC but I don't need a very powerfull PC just a better one. And I'm looking to run both Linux and Windows on it.
Now I'm looking at Newegg.com and TigerDirect, can anyone recommend a system from there or perhaps another online store? I only know those 2. And do they ship internationaly, more specifically Central America or just US?

Thanks

I used a Shuttle SG31G2 to build my machine (see specs below). I really like Shuttle's quality and design.

Best place to buy computer hardware IMO is Newegg. Cheap and reliable.

Have look at Tigerdirect (http:///www.tigerdirect.com/), they've had some pretty good deals on barebones systems over the last few months.

Micro Center has refurbished XP computers from $100 and up, and they sell a brand new computer with Ubuntu for $199. No I don't work for them, I only shop there but email them and see what they say.

If they are of no help, try Geeks.com

The tiger direct shop has an AMD kit that looks sweet, I don't think you can buy from here but I've heard that amazon has TigerDirect as a partner and you can buy from amazon here. Let's see how it goes.

The TigerDirect store at Amazon don't ship to Central/Latin America as far as I can tell. Merchant & Market place sellers might have different shipping policies to those of Amazon. According to the link below the tigerdirect amazon store does not ship to any countries south of the usa although it does ship to other countries outside of the americas.

You can buy from Tiger Direct but you cannot order online though. You have to call them & they only accept wire transfer for funds.

You cannot buy from newegg which is a shame.

Look at what your use is going to be, and decide on a budget. Functionality in today's market starts around $350.00US, and goes up from there. If you're just going to chat away, then I'd recommend a good cell phone, as they offer even more functionality than talking about a computer.
