I'm running 8.10 Intrepid Ipex (I used the alternate install CD) on a PowerPC iMac G3. I'm also running in the low-graphics mode because if I don't, my imac's monitor shuts off and does weird stuff - the iMac issue.

The latest problem is that no applications will open in Gnome. Or at least, when I open them, they appear for a flash and then quit. All I can do is use the File Browser to look around basically... I tried opening the apps in a shell but it gives me "Can't open with Display: ".

Could this be a RAM issue? I think this computer has about 512mb... not completely sure. And not sure how I can check with apps that don't work.

I think this is a problem with x.org. Something is probably not linked correctly to your x-session.

I don't know any fix though.

Yeah, my xorg.conf is definitely set up wrong, so if that is in fact the problem can someone help me out?

What configuration do I need for an iMac G3 slot-loading bondi blue PowerPC with ATI Rage 128 VR?
