I just ignored it, I was using a different icon theme anyway. I think that the theme you installed doesn't came up with an icon theme if I'm not mistake.
If you still doesn't know how to install an icon theme, try this:
Download an icon theme in gnomelook.org/open your home folder/make a new folder and rename it .icon (if you dont have this folder yet)/drop your downloaded file on this folder/right click that file and extract it there/go to system/preferences/appearance/customize/icons/choose the icon theme that you downloaded/close/ hope this helps.

I get this error all the time, but don't know how to get rid of it.
Also, just as annoying, is the error saying that
The theme will not look as intended because the required gtk engine "" is not installed
or, even worse,
The theme will not look as intended because the required gtk engine "ubuntulooks" is not installed
I do have ubuntulooks engine installed.

Found this - It solved my problem with themes. I imagine something similar would work for the Icon theme issue.
edit: I suppose I should include the 'this' above, here it is: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1047790
