Do you have an empty partition to install vista on it? Or do you want to delete Ubuntu and install vista on that partition/drive?

split your disk in two, move ubuntu partition to the back and the new windows partition to the front. make the first partition ntfs and install vista on that.

btw. did you ever hear about Wine? it lets you ran windows apps on linux, *bsd and mac os. try your windows app with that. you can also look around if there are native linux apps letting you do your desired tasks.

Start Over

1. Partition Hard Drive using Gparted Live CD (http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php)
2. Install Vista
3. Install Ubuntu
4. Enjoy Your System

Wine is not the magic potion. It cannot run every windows app out there. Install virtualbox and use it to install vista would be a better option.
