Hello, I'm fairly new at the Ubuntu forums.
I am trying to build a home server using Ubuntu 8.10. I was wondering, is there a way to host Windows user accounts (the other computers in our house are Windows) on the Ubuntu server like Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 can?

Also, I have been having problems with Samba. I can't access resources until I change the access settings on the Ubuntu computer to "domain" and then back to "user". Then the windows computers can access the network.

Thanks!

I'm trying to set it up...

I'm also trying to use GSAMBAD. What are your opinions about this program?

OK. I think I left one crucial detail out. I am using the desktop version of Ubuntu so that I can use a GUI. I'm not very good with a command line.

I think I looked at gsambad once, but I never tried to use it on a real scenario. I mainly use CLI or webmin, so I'll second the recommendation for webmin. It covers a lot of ground.
