Yeah, I've got this great anti-spyware program installed on my computer too. I thinks it's called Linux, or something like that... ;-)

Sorry! I couldn't resist
Anyway, It's about time M$ did something to try and clean up the mess they've made. But if the quality is anything like their other products it'll probably turn out to have a whole host of it's own bugs and security problems :-?

Edit: LOL, I posted without looking at the link...
That's pretty funny!

Microsoft really needs to clean up their fundamental design or the security issues will just keep coming in ever greater numbers, Service Pack 2 simply wasn't enough.

I had that program. It was called "Giant AntiSpyWare". Then MS bought them out.

Now to use it you have to have your MS OS re-verified. So those who are paranoid about MS getting personal information may be a little taken back. So you paid $200 for WXP. You registered it. Now comes another piece of software and you re-register. Next will come another app. and you re-register it. etc. My question is: will Active-X have to be enabled to use it? just like it has to be enabled for IE and MacAfee and Flash Media Player?

I'm already running SpyBot, SpyWare Guard, Spyware Blaster, TDS-3, Worm Guard, BHO guard, Nivex (?), Giant AntiSpyware Guard and two or three other apps. It has slowed down one of my machines to a crawl.

And that's why I went with Linux. :D

That image got posted on 6 message boards. I even sent a copy to the FSF. Although they probably won't put it on their "fun" page because it contains copyrighted material...

Too many false positives for the new software for me.

I wish that the people who make windows programs would allow them to run in restricted mode.....Windows wouldn't have the spyware problems if programs like quicken didn't require to be in admin mode to run them...Thats my favorite thing about Ubuntu, I only need sudo for Synaptic and K3B.
