I don't really have a question other than have others had similar experiences with Pulse.

I've been using Ubuntu since Dapper and while running across minor issues here and there its generally been a decent experience.

Sadly that cant be said for the previous two releases. Ever since Pulse Audio was added I've had nothing but sound issues with any machine I use with it.

Systems:

HP Laptop AMD Duel core 2.0ghz, 3gb RAM, onboard sound.
Custom built duel proc AMD 1.6ghz Opteron, 2gb RAM, Soundblaster Audigy 2.
Custom built 8 proc 2.66ghz Xeon, 8gb RAM, onboard sound.

I'm constantly losing sound, if I open a web browser it will crash another application using alsa (happens alot to Audacious), and random other things that just make sound miserable.

The problem has only gotten worse with each new release which doesn't lead to high hopes for the future. If there are any tweaks or other common known work arounds to get Pulse playing nicely I'd greatly appreciate it.

Cheers

There are big problems if pulseaudio is not set up properly but, it only takes a few minutes to fix
