Hello good folks.

I am entirely new to ubuntu (and linux in general) so please forgive my ignorance.

I am attempting to hook up a second screen (L5ak5) 15" LCD.
When I boot the system (celeron HP pavilion laptop) it seems to work well while booting. As soon as ubuntu is loaded and presenting the log in screen, the second screen tells me there is no signal and shuts off.

I have attempted to use the 'detect displays' wizard from the Monitor Resolution Settings console, but to no avail.

Could someone please advise me further, or direct me to somewhere pertinent?

Thank you in advance.
