xbox softmod with linux

I have read around that with the correct game(that being a copy of either mechassualt, 007 agent under fire, or splintercell) and an action replay you can softmod your original xbox and install a xbox specific distro of linux on it.


Has anyone here done this before, and was it succesfull with little to no problems? I've read around differet tutorials and it looks fairly easy.

I used the hot swap method where you open the case and switch the ide cables to your computer

YOu just download the ISO burn it pop it in your softmod xbox run the .xbe file on the disc and in the menu choose install (your choice of install type)
